Individual and Group Therapy for Adults

How Do I Know if I Need Psychotherapy?

There are many reasons why people seek psychotherapy.  Finding oneself in a state of depression, or unable to calm one’s anxiety are a couple of reasons.  Some people find themselves compelled to use substances like alcohol and even food, or engage in behavior, like gambling or compulsive sex, in ways which decrease the quality of one’s life and possibly put oneself in danger.  Sometimes people notice themselves enacting familiar behavior and roles that don’t seem to fit anymore. Others say they feel stuck in their lives, unable to move forward in a way that increases the joy and meaning in their lives.  Noting dissatisfaction with relationships and difficulty connecting meaningfully with others, some people seek more self-understanding through psychotherapy. Still others seek psychotherapy not because there’s anything particularly problematic going on, but because they want to develop a greater level of satisfaction and wellbeing for themselves.

Lillian has experience in providing psychotherapy to those with the following:

  • Addictive behaviors (includes drugs, alcohol, compulsive sex, etc.)
